About Valerie
Val enjoys helping guests achieve happy, healthy, hair. In doing so, she realized that what she did everyday could also help the environment.
She uses Organic Salon Systems. Products for a healthier alternative. Where a more pleasant salon experience is created, since there are no harmful ammonia fumes that can make breathing difficult or cause eyes to swell and tear. As well as, eliminate scalp irritation & staining.
She partnered with Matter of Trust, a not-for-profit company, who uses hair clippings to create hair mats to soak up oil spills. In addition to recycling hair clippings, all trash is recycled too.
She’s also partnered up with Locks of Love, a not-for-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under 21 with medical hair loss.
A licensed Cosmetologist since 1989, she opened Val’s Sunny Shears in 2007. Then moved the growing salon in the fall of 2011. Valerie has the ability to visualize and create haircuts and styles to compliment all face shapes. As well as, sharing tips and giving advice on cuts and products to help control natural curly hair, like hers.
